My version of the Bristol club's cutter grinder. Works well, but high revving, variable speed not really ideal.
I was loaned one of these boring heads and decided to make my own version. Featured in Model Engineer's Workshop.
I was asked if I could restore a Civil War sword handle. This was the result from copying the original. I even managed
'Turk's Heads' to finish the ends off. Quite a job working with multi strands of 1mm steel wire.
The John Wilding design.
I based this on a design by
William Hayter in 1830.
I copied this wheel cutting engine from a clock book but it proved to be a poor design.
Driving my first loco. A Crampton, based on the German "Die Pfalz". Hard to drive!
The Crampton running chassis. Very pretty engine but being broad gauge is closer to a 3-1/2" in size.
On the steaming bay having passed its boiler test.
My Kerr Stuart 1900-1930 Campbelltown to Machrihanish line in Scotland, Princess Class. Drawings available from my club.
